Commander Instruments and Avionics, Inc. is now offering installation and support services for aircraft owners and operators at the Charleston Executive Airport. With offices located in the old Atlantic Aviation FBO Terminal at 2700 Fort Trenholm Road adjacent to runway 9/27, Commander will provide support for existing customers as well as aircraft of all makes and models based in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. Located 6 miles southwest of Charleston, SC and convenient to the Charleston International Airport, the Charleston Executive Airport is operated by Atlantic Aviation providing the unparalleled FBO services and distinctive experience that Commander's customers appreciate.

Commander Receives FAA Certification for New Facilities
Commander Instruments and Avionics, Inc. has been inspected by the Federal Aviation Administration and has received new Operations Specifications for its Performance Road location in Charlotte, North Carolina as well as its Aviation Blvd location on the Concord Regional Airport in Concord, North Carolina.
Commander's ratings include all 3 Radio and all 4 Instrument classes as well as a Limited Airframe rating for "Airframe Alterations and Installations". Commander is now approved for "continuous operations" at both locations and is authorized to perform work at additional locations other than its primary fixed locations.

Johnson elected President of Aviation Instrument Association
Commander Instruments and Avionics, Inc. President Jeffrey A. Johnson has been elected to the office of President of the Aviation Instrument Association (AIA), an international professional association serving FAA and JAA certificated Repair Stations. Johnson has served the AIA in the past as it's Vice-President as well as Secretary-Treasurer. Johnson will be working with the Board of Directors to expand the Association's training program during the upcoming year as well as development of new and enhancement of existing member benefits.
The AIA will be holding it's spring convention in Dallas, Texas during the week of April 1, 2009 in conjunction with the Aircraft Electronics Association convention.
